Innovating Outside The Building

It’s a great time to be an innovator. Executives are realizing that innovation could give them the competitive edge. Companies are supporting innovation initiatives and dedicated labs are helping build quicker and better products. But is that enough? How do we scale innovation beyond a proof of concept?

Van will share the story on how AIA’s innovation team left the building and headed down to a branch to see their real customers and their real problems up close. A prototype was put in our customer’s hands by the afternoon and AIA has not stopped iterating and improving, with the next milestone a full rollout to over 4 million customers in Malaysia.

This is not a talk about a chatbot but of the importance of focusing on your customers’ problems, and responding with a solution, not just an answer.

Product Manager at Wizeline

Van is currently a Product Manager at Wizeline, with a strong delivery record in designing and building fintech products in both Australia and SE Asia. Her strengths lie in applying an adaptive mindset towards navigating strategic & complex issues, with the outcome of building innovative digital solutions. Prior to Wizeline, Van worked in AIA’s Innovation team as a Product Manager focusing on AI solutions and responsible for launching Malaysia’s first insurance chatbot.
