Innovation Through Collaboration

Unilever Foundry is Unilever’s global platform that connects Startups from around the world to Unilever driving innovation through collaboration. Since launch in May 2014, the Unilever Foundry has launched globally more than 170 pilots globally with Unilever brands and startups, and has scaled 45% of early-stage companies across the company’s brands and geographies.

Barbara Guerpillon, Director of the Unilever Foundry in Asia will introduce the collaboration model that Unilever has developed to attendees and showcase Unilever’s commitment to exploring disruptive ideas with innovators to harness their talents globally.

Participants will derive a clearer understanding of the platform’s significance, how it operates both globally and regionally, and some of today’s scaling-up startups that Unilever Foundry has supported.

Based in Singapore, Barbara overseas the partnership and collaboration for Unilever Foundry in Southeast Asia & Australia, brining innovators, startups to pioneer the future of marketing.

Unilever Foundry is Unilever’s global platform for partnering with the world’s best startups to accelerate business innovation on a global scale. We identify and leverage the latest technologies from around the world, and exchange knowledge to solve business challenges through collaboration with Unilever and our 400+ brands, across 190 countries.

Barbara is an experienced entrepreneur and is passionate about making disruptive ideas a part of the Unilever’s business. She joined Unilever Foundry team in 2015, not just to help start-ups scale, but to ensure Unilever would embrace the startup culture and works to champion transformation across the business in the region.

While she is driven to deliver impact to the business, she is pioneering a new model of engagement with a wider ecosystem of innovation by building LEVEL3. More than a co-working space, LEVEL3 is an ecosystem helping Unilever, startups, other corporates, Industry leaders, Investor and Governments to collaborate and create synergies.

She joined Unilever from eYeka and is the co-founder of Bootic Inc, an e-commerce platform today failed after raising S$1.5M in seed funding. She is a mentor and advisor for startup in her global network and completed her Global Executive MBA at INSEAD in 2016.
