The Science of Innovation

Alan Cabello

Co-founder and CEO at Sparkademy

as recorded on 3 June 2021 as part of Innov8rs Connect Unconference

We all know the importance of innovation. But what makes some people better innovators than others? What does the brain tell us about innovative thinking?

Neuroscience research at ETH Zurich has shown that people who drive organizational transformation combine two core abilities: they can deal with uncertainty to identify a way forward, and they are good at identifying needs by reading people’s emotional responses. Is everyone an innovator by default? No. But anyone can become one.

This session provided insights on the science behind innovative thinking and how that can be used to teach people to be innovative.
