The Story of MOBIKO, an AUDI Business Innovation Spin-off With a Realistic Chance

Spinning of a corporate startup can end up in being a part of an innovation theatre, being a playball of corporate politics and then there is only this one pot of money where you can apply for.

The idea of a fully flexible mobility budget as a benefit was born at Audi Business Innovation in spring 2017. Finally, one year later it was brought to execution by the foundation of the mantro benefits GmbH in collaboration with mantro.

Within this talk I take you on a journey on how MOBIKO was developed, why this collaboration gives us a realistic chance as a corporate startup and success factors that I believe are relevant for your venture building initiatives.

Nicola Büsse

Head of Sales at Mobiko

Nicola started her career working for an automotive supplier in Stuttgart after studying at the Technical University in Munich with a focus on economics and mechanical engineering.

She gained first experience within the corporate VC and strategy departments with spin-offs of corporate startups. Back in Munich she joined AUDI Business Innovation to focus on the spin-off of MOBIKO. Together with her Co-Worker Franziska Mayr, she decided in 2019 to take over full responsibility within the spin-off and joined MOBIKO full-time as Head of Sales, without a return-ticket.
