Creative Leadership & Innovation in Large Corporations

The session focuses on Purpose-Driven Innovation and Creative Leadership in large corporations. After leading innovation in large conservative corporations for almost a decade Marika Reis takes you on a journey as an innovator and creative leader and shares her personal experiences and learnings on what worked and more importantly what did not work for her in creating successful innovation in large cooperations, all while loving the challenges that can occur during the process. She dives into the different types, structures, horizons and processes of innovation, and gives concrete examples of what requires a balanced act when introducing creative leadership into conservative industries.

Marika Reis

Head of Innovation at Maersk Drilling

Marika Reis is Head of Innovation at Maersk Drilling where she is responsible for building up and maximizing Maersk Drillings innovation efforts globally. This includes everything from finding new technology through partnerships and R&D, changing and disrupting the current value chain, digitizing the current and future business, growing new future capabilities to leading the way to a more sustainable future for the O&G industry. Before joining Maersk Drilling she was most recently the Vice President of Innovation and head of E.ON’s global Innovation Hub B2C. There she was responsible for managing E.ON’s global B2C innovation portfolio and leading a multinational team to drive innovation across E.ON regions, creating innovation culture and capabilities across the business. Prior to joining E.ON, she worked for Lloyds Apotek in Sweden, responsible for the launch and growth of new pharmacies in southern Sweden, successfully growing the company from less than 30 employees to over 700 in 2 years.

Marika has a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Uppsala, is a licensed pharmacist, and is trained in Design Thinking and is as a Design Sprint master.
