Sustainability is Core Business

Customer centricity has been the most potent ingredient in new business development and innovation during the last decade. Driven by Design Thinking and especially Service Design, businesses have navigated fierce global competition by establishing a unique data connection through investigating their customers’ needs and co-developing services with them.

Environmental upset, digitalization-driven transparency and highly conscious millennials drive companies – and investment capital to new, more sustainable and risk-averse directions. To be anti-fragile in the face of this new current, businesses must adopt a new manifesto: Sustainability is Core Business – not communications effort or certification optimization. Sustainability as both a lense (KPI’s) and a lever (resources) will drive businesses to build more value to their customers with less resources.

Aleksi Issakainen

SVP Design at Solita

Aleksi Issakainen has driven transformation both in local and global corporations. During the last three years he has worked as a consultant in Finland’s biggest service design consultancy and after being acquired by IT company Solita as the SVP of Design.

He has worked as a marketing & communications director at a global travel tech company and led two other blue-chip IT companies MarComms in Finland and the Baltic States. Before joining the consultancy he worked as a central transformation driver and service portfolio manager at the iconic Finnish media house Fonecta.

Aleksi has worked with dozens of start-ups, established and led foundries and driven new businesses and internal start-ups to business maturity and scale-up.
