The Why's and How's of Startup Collaboration: Inovo's Perspective

For most of the 20th century, large companies depended on internal R&D to create new inventions that would drive business formation and growth. In the early part of the 21st century, the concept of open innovation emerged and most companies began to look outside for new technologies and solutions to complement internal R&D. Simultaneously, the startup ecosystem expanded exponentially, first in the U.S. and then around the world. Today, the specific flavor of open innovation that is increasingly garnering attention is startup collaboration. Large, established companies are finding startups to be a rich source of technology possibilities and a testbed for emerging needs. The question is how to be intentional and intelligent about these relationships.  Brian Christian from The Inovo Group will discuss the reasons for working with startups and how to integrate these relationships into your innovation system.
