Maja Lapcevic will share Mastercard Labs approach to innovation and share how we engage employees, drive growth, and explore new areas including financial inclusion, emerging technologies, and new payment flows.

SVP for Innovation Management & Marketing at Mastercard

Maja leads Mastercard Lab’s Global Innovation Programs to foster our thriving culture; the Mastercard Labs Experience Centers and Marketing team to elevate Mastercard’s reputation for innovation and partner co-creation; and Mastercard’s dedicated innovation relationship with select merchant clients.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Maja held a number of innovation roles at Citi Ventures including the build-out of an Emerging Technology practice focused on deepening the understanding of emerging technologies and their implications for Citi’s businesses and clients, co-heading the D10x Global Incubator program where she led the definition, design and development of new products and services that solve for unmet client needs, and in Venture Investing where she was responsible for startup sourcing and commercialization focusing on Commerce, Payments, FinTech, and Market Technology domains.

Prior to Citi Ventures, she led digital partnerships and social marketing for Citi’s presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. She also headed up corporate strategy at a London-based mobile payments start-up, InternetQ and supported their listing on AIM. Maja founded SML Strategic Media and ran digital marketing campaigns in 42 countries around the world.

Maja graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in Economics and International Affairs.
