Think Big, Start Small & Move Fast - An Intrapreneurship Journey of the Monash Food Innovation Centre

My title sums up very well our journey over the past 5 years. We started being Intrapreneurs in Mondelez International with the support of the Victorian State Government who took a bold step to create a world first model to support sector led innovation in the Food and Agribusiness. We moved fast to become Entrepreneurs and moved the model to more a neutral environment to become an industry shared services platform and now having proved both we are becoming Intrapreneurs again within Monash University. Come along and hear our journey and how we are making a dent in the Australian Food and Agribusiness sector to renew and revitalise for sustainable growth.

Angeline Achariya

Chief Executive Officer at Food Innovation Centre, Monash University

Angeline has more than 20 years of diverse international innovation and leadership experience in blue chip multinational companies like Masterfoods Japan, Fonterra, Yum! Brands and Mondelez International.  Angeline has led cross-functional teams across innovation, strategy development, market expansion and R&D execution. Her leadership has resulted in over 800 innovations launched across grocery and quick service restaurants in markets such as Japan, China, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. Angeline is on a number of advisory boards and committees and most noteworthy is the development of Victoria’s Food & Fibre strategy in 2015.  Angeline’s strong commercial and innovation skills have paved the way for her leading and establishing a world first industry shared model, the Mondelez International Food Innovation Centre (FIC). The FIC has transitioned to Monash University in 2016 as a neutral industry shared innovation services start up to support the growth and revitalisation of the Australian food and beverage industry.
