Innovation Takes Flight: An Airport Story

Get an insider’s look at the complex world of innovating within an airport. Linda will take you through the origins of Vancouver International Airport’s (YVR) innovation program, the successes and the challenges over the past decade. YVR’s unique operating model as a not-for-profit, financially independent organization drives investment in innovations that improve airport experiences while also helping keep costs as low as possible. That means a focus on developing new, made-in-BC technologies that are now in demand by airports around the world.

In this session we will look at what drives YVR to continue to innovate in a highly regulated industry. But as any start-up or global company knows, innovation requires iteration and evolution. Hear how we keep pushing, keep encouraging, and keep generating new ideas today and beyond.
Join us in this conversation that will soar through the ups and downs of innovating in the complex world of aviation and YVR driven solutions which affect not only the 25,000+ people that work at YVR, but the millions that travel through each year.
