In the next 25 years, 2 billion people will move to urban areas. We need to learn to build the cities we want while preserving the planet we have. Open innovation is our one opportunity to create a step change not only in mature markets, but especially in the dynamic growth markets outside of Europe. In this session, we learned about the ins and outs of open innovation at LafargeHolcim.
Philipp Leutiger is Chief Digital Officer of LafargeHolcim, the leading global building materials company. Philipp is responsible for creating global initiatives in all steps of the building materials value chain to digitalize the entire business of LafargeHolcim.
Prior to joining LafargeHolcim, he was Senior Partner at RolandBerger, specializing in digital transformation of industrial companies. Philipp is a believer in use case driven, open innovation approaches for the Industrial Internet. He is working to apply this thinking at LafargeHolcim, a company with one of the world’s largest and heaviest industrial footprints.
