Understanding the role and value of political savvy as a critical leadership skill always in demand but rarely taught.
This session explores a political model of behavior. Using a savvy lens the participants discuss a short, relevant case study and:
1) Re-frame Political Savvy and see the organization as a whole system by asking different questions of ourselves and others
2) Analyze Informal and Formal Networks to achieve goals, navigate careers, and improve innovation.
Dr. Jane Horan is a coach, researcher, and advisor in leadership, careers and inclusion. With over 25 years of work experience with companies such as Kraft, Disney and GE, Jane uses research and practical knowledge to help individuals navigate leadership and career transitions.
She is the founder of The Horan Group, helping organizations build inclusive workplaces and individuals find career purpose. Her consulting work includes Fortune 100 firms, multilateral banks, and academic institutions. As an executive coach, Jane helps individuals reframe thinking to uncover what matters most and move beyond limiting beliefs.
She is the author of, I Wish I’d Known That Earlier in My Career: the power of workplace politics, How Asian Women Lead: Lessons for Global Corporations, Now It’s Clear: the Career You Own, and the Coaching Practice to be published Spring 2021.
Jane has lived, worked and studied in the US, China, Hong Kong, and holds an Educational Doctorate from Bristol University.
