In this session Kevin led a discussion around establishing a strategy, organization and set of capabilities to drive transformational innovation within large companies. He shared experiences and lessons learned in setting up the Stanley X venture studio, gaining organizational alignment, launching their first new ventures, and creating the engine for building a diverse portfolio of ventures designed to create new sources of growth for Stanley Black and Decker and counter disruption to their core business.

About the speaker

Kevin Lemke currently leads new venture creation at Stanley X, Stanley Black and Decker’s innovation arm. Kevin co-founded Stanley X, where he incubates new ventures and is building a portfolio of organically grown businesses, investments and commercial partnerships. In that role, Kevin established the strategic direction of the incubator, launched the venture studio team, and developed its methodologies and capabilities.

Kevin guided five new ventures from concept to funded businesses to acceleration in the market, generating Stanley X's first base of recurring revenue, and established an incubator with the ability to continuously launch new businesses.

Prior to Stanley Black and Decker, Kevin held leadership positions at Continental Airlines, Dell Computer, AMD, and Freescale Semiconductor where he led business transformation and commercial excellence initiatives, generating in excess of $500M of incremental margin.
